Please forgive me for asking these questions right here, but there is no 'Help' subforum or even a 'Help' thread anywhere on this message board (yet), so that's why I am doing it here instead. I would have made a 'Help' thread myself, but I wouldn't even know where to place that one. With that said, I don't really understand the difference between this thread and the "Agreed on" trades thread. Aren't they virtually the same? If they are not, is this thread intended for completed IOU's and the "Agreed on" trades thread for ongoing IOU's? Lastly, may (still ongoing) IOU deals made before the existence of this forum be mentioned in this thread (or the other one)? Or is this thread (or the other one) solely meant for IOU deals made on this forum? Thank you very much in advance to those that can shed some light on this matter.

Okay, I'm gonna try to answer your questions. ^^ 1). The 'agreed on' trades thread is for IOUs that were not agreed on via PM and were publicly announced; you can post those to assure you will get the IOU you were owed. The 'log of IOUs' is just to record who gave what on this forum . Any IOUs not made here will not be recorded here. 2). It can be for either one, but I think it's mainly for everything IOU related (and DC related). Hope I helped! ^^

Since you mentioned publicly announced IOUs, may I ask what the characteristics of such IOUs are? I mean, are these merely IOUs done in the public space and witnessed by many others - like in #IOUtrades? Or are these IOUs where both trading partners must agree to state publicly (either here or on #IOUtrades): "I would like to announce that I have an IOU with so-and-so for this-and-that." ? Maybe I am overthinking it (as I do lots of things), but I would still like to verify. The rest of #1 and #2 in your post is clear to me, though. All of my ongoing IOU trades were agreed upon in PM over at the DC forum (I have not yet made any here or at #IOUtrades, unfortunately), so those I shall not list in the IOU Log then. The same then also applies to all ongoing IOU deals made before the existence of this forum, because they were obviously made outside of this forum and as such should not be listed then. I also found myself wondering about something else, by the way. If a situation arises where someone with whom you made an IOU deal over at the DC forum scams you, but you know for a fact that this person also has an account here, may you report this person here then (in order to protect the people here from this person)? That is, if you can provide ample proof of their having agreed upon the IOU and not fulfilling it (such as screenshots of the PMs sent). I am asking because this forum allows for a blacklist, but it is not (yet) specified when one may report someone for the blacklist (or in other words, what the criteria/procedure are for the blacklist). It's okay if you can't answer this part of my question right away: obviously the criteria and procedure for the blacklist must still be under development (and will certainly be featured on the forum at some point, or so I hope), so I understand if you can't answer because you don't yet know what this forum's policy is regarding this subject matter. Okay, that's all that I wanted to ask - thank you for bearing with me.

Those IOUs would just be verifying from both parties -- it's so the others know what is going on, and what they should expect. The general iou thread is just to state what's completed, if that makes sense, but the IOu thread where you make the IOUs is for making them on the forum. :3 2). Unless they did it on here, all we can do is warn members not to trade with them -- we can't really control what someone does outside of this forum. What DCers do on DC is what they do. I'm sorry, but you can PM a moderator and they can talk about it to an admin if you want.

The IOU log is just a place to keep track of IOUs from anywhere. It's the alternative to keeping them in your profile if mods start to ban that as well (which they hopefully never do...). About your second issue, you may report any member as long as you know their scroll name, forum name, and proof of wrongdoing (ie screenshot). Snow and I will set up guidelines for reporting members in the blacklist thread itself when the two of us are on at the same time (which hopefully should be tomorrow...). Also, yes, Snow and I still haven't gotten this forum fully on its feet yet, but we should by the beginning of November (I hope). Anything else?

Thank you again for the swift replies, Darcia and Gist! I understand everything now. *nods happily* ;D I would like to suggest, though, that if the general IOU thread is for completed IOUs and the other thread a place to make IOUs in, that their titles should be changed to reflect that. For example, 'Completed IOUs' and 'Make IOUs'. In my humble opinion, that would be clearer and less ambiguous than the current titles - but that's just a suggestion, though. About the scamming issue: I have not yet been scammed, fortunately. *knocks firmly and loudly on wood* I do have an uneasy feeling about one of my ongoing IOU trades, though (that person never replied once they got what they needed from me, while all the others did so) - which is why I was curious about if and how I can/should report if indeed my uneasy feeling is proven right come Halloween. Let's hope I will never need to go through the procedure of reporting someone to the Blacklist thread, though. *crosses fingers* In the meantime, it's at least good to know that guidelines are going to be developed in the near future - not just for me, but for everyone else that might fall victim to scammers in the future. Anyway, that's all for now - thank you again for the thorough replies and I wish you the best of luck with getting this forum on its feet. It will be fun to watch it grow and bloom from a leetle forum to a full-fledged bustling place, heh heh.
